Seaport Village - July 24, 2009

Our summer vacation to San Diego was long for many reasons! First, Kevin took Kale to his first ComicCon (the world's largest comic book convention). The following week, Kevin attended a week-long AVID training (AVID is a great program that teaches and supports students towards reaching the final goal of a college education). The week after Kevin, I have a week-long AVID training. So needless to say San Diego became a second home for us!

During the first week, Kevin had Kale with him each day and I have Kai and we would meet up in the evenings. Uncle Dave also attended the convention with Kevin and Kale!

One of our favorite places to have dinner and hang out is Seaport Village.

Kale loved riding the 1895 Antique carousel with hand carved animals. Kevin and I both took turns on this ride with Kale!

One of the things that Kevin and I love so much about San Diego is that the entire town is very much like a walking museum with art displays everywhere. One of the current displays are these contemporary art sculptures that are located all around town called the Arcs. As you can see Kale and Kai both enjoying climbing over these pieces.

To top off our evening of fun, we took a horse carriage ride with the boys and Uncle Dave around the marina. It was beautiful as the sun was setting and the man giving us the tour had so much historical information to share it was great!
